Get Married in Costa Rica
Thinking of something other than the traditional wedding? This might be the alternative for you!
Day 1
You and your guests arrive in lovely San Jose. Our driver will meet you at the airport for a transfer to you hotel. All guests will stay at Finca Rosa Blanca Hotel. Attention to detail and elegance is evident in all areas of the hotel. Overnight at Finca Rosa Blanca.
Day 2
The day before the ceremony. Today is a day for pampering. We can organize peticures, manicures, hairstylist, and massage theropy and facials for all parties. We can have a golf tournement for those who want to play golf.
After your day of relaxation, there will be a dinner for all the wedding guests in the dining room.
Day 3
Today is the big day! You may choose to have your wedding at finca Rosa
Blanca, or at the Peace Lodge. Overnight for the wedding guests at Rosa
Blanca, and for the bride and groom, at the Peace Lodge.
We can arrange another dinner on this date with a band if you like.
Day 4
Today your guests return home or they may choose to extend their trip with an optional package. The bride and groom spend the day at the waterfalls of the Peace Lodge.
Day 5
Now the Honeymoon begins! Today you head to the beach. You transfer to the domestic airport for your flight to the beach. We suggest any of the following hotels for your honeymoon: Makanda by the Sea, Punta Islita, or Tango Mar, or Cala Luna.
Days 5 - 10
Overnights at the beach. You may choose among many optional tours such as horseback riding, snorkeling, hiking, white water rafting or perhaps you would like to relax and watch the waves roll in.
Day 10
Today you return to San Jose for your final night in this beautiful country. Overnight at Xandari Plantaion.
Day 11
Transfer to the international airport for your flight home.

Requirements for Getting Married in Costa Rica
Costa Rican law permits US citizens to get married here. A lawyer can perform the required legal ceremony.
You will need the following documents:
- A valid passport
- A certified copy of your birth certificate
- If you have been married before:
- A certified copy of the divorce decree or
- A certified copy of your previous spouse's death certificate
- If you have been married before, you must come to the Embassy's Consular Section and make a sworn statement to that effect before a Consular Officer. For the woman, 300 days must have transpired from the official date of divorce. Former partner's name is required.
- Other information that will be required of both groom and bride:
- Name
- Profession
- Passport number
- USA address
- Birth date
- Nationality
- Father's full name
- Mother's full name
- Parents address
- Marital status (specific, i.e. divorced one time)
Please note that the marriage cannot be recognized in the US until a marriage certificate is issued by the Costa Rican Civil Registry (Registro Civil). The issuance of the marriage certificate normally takes 4-6 weeks.
In order for the marriage to be recognized in the US you must do the following:
- The Costa Rican marriage certificate must be translated into English by any official translator of the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
- It has to authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
- The certificate must be notarized and signed by the US Embassy's Consular Section.
All of the above steps may be performed by a Costa Rican attorney.
