San José
San José, the nation's capital, a congested and bustling city, sits at an elevation of 1150 meters in a wide and fertile central valley. The city's population is approximately 278,000, and along with the population of surrounding suburbs of close to 885,000, greater San Jose represents 37% of the nation's total population. A very "North Americanized"city, department stores, fast food chains, shopping malls and progressive lifestyles are the norm. Because the city serves as the center of all travel throughout the country, most visitors will encounter it's charm at least once during their holiday.
San José does offer much to the traveler, whether you stay one night or several. Nightclubs, casinos, shopping malls, museums, and wonderful restaurants are plentiful.
San José offers a broad range of accommodations. Rico Tours has visited most hotels in the city and outlying areas and have chosen our favorites. We have based our decisions on: quality of service; friendly, open staff; location; amenities; and value. One of our most important requirements for hotels is that they offer charm and individuality, and are not just another highrise tourist hotel!
