This is the area of Costa Rica that is quickly being developed by large hotels. There are several signature golf courses being built and many large hotels and resort type properties. The beaches here are stunning, the fishing is great, Rincon de la Vieja National park is here and during the green season, this area is the driest. It is also the driest during the dry season and can be very, very hot. The landscape is much like that of Northern California. It is easy to fly to several landing strips or the airport of Liberia. Bear in mind that the mass marketing charter companies are bringing tourist to Liberia by the plane loads, so you will see "herds" of tourist at the large resorts.
