The house was originally built using ideas from English cottages, Welsh farmhouses, and American architecture, combined with local artisan skills. Its unusually designed strength of construction gives it a splendid atmosphere.
As a base of operations, the Lodge is strategically located, 16 kms from Poás Volcano and from which the guests can visit numerous attractions and various different ecological zones.
From San Jose the Lodge is one hour and fifteen minutes drive time.

Poas Volcano Lodge is surrounded by pretty gardens, trails and exuberant vegetation. Within a very short distance you can experience the variety of a rain forest.

The sunken fireplace is a wonderful spot in the evening for relaxing and reflecting on the day’s events. There is also a very large recreation room which can be used for conferences.

The Lodge offers nine bedrooms, three in the main house, including the master suite, of which all but two have their own bathroom with hot water. The Lodge also can provide dinner, packed lunches, mountain bikes and laundry services.
