Where To Stay Costa Rica
Costa Rica
Vista del Valle
Location: Central Valley & Highlands, San Jose

Vista del Valle is located in the heart of the central valley's most beautiful and productive coffee and orange growing region. About one kilometer from the Pan American Highway, the property sits on the edge of the dramatic Rio Grande canyon at about 2400 elevation in the middle of a lush plantation. The views of the valley and surrounding mountains are stunning.

For those who want to discover the essence of Costa Rica and explore its many secrets, Vista del Valle becomes part of the adventure. Within short driving distances are several quaint villages, artisan centers, volcano Poas and other favorite eco-tourism destinations.

The main house is an architectural marvel that features beautiful hardwoods, glass and stone, with high ceilings and an open floor plan. Each room has its own balcony and opens onto scenic views and gardens. The exquisite cottages were inspired by Japanese design. The secret to building these tropical cottages was to construct them with an open feeling, blending the interior with the beauty of the gardens and allowing gentle breezes to flow through. The design also allows for the most harmonious use of beautiful Costa Rican hardwoods, creating a gentle ambience. Cottages with one and two beds are available. All have private baths, kitchenettes, and are tastefully furnished for comfort. A full breakfast is included.

The swimming pool and Jacuzzi are set among lush gardens of tropical plants and flowering trees, overlooking the valley. Hammocks are set up around the property for indulging in the native custom of siesta.

After a comfortable night and a delicious breakfast, you could explore one of the many trails that wind through the plantation, or venture down to the waterfall by the river. Within a short distance you can visit one of the many fascinating native villages where one can experience a true slice of Costa Rican life. Any visitors are drawn to Sarchi where artisans create beautiful wood pieces as they have done for centuries.

The more adventurous might white water raft through the jungles, traverse the rain forest to see orchids, bromeliads and wildlife, or investigate one of the many nearby volcanoes.
