The Costa Rica Marriott is the only 'chain' hotel we recommend in San Jose. The architect has done a great job of building a 252 room hotel without losing the Costa Rican feeling.

Built on a 30 acre coffee plantation, the 16th century Colonial style hotel is near the Juan Santamaria International Airport, the Intel plant, and has a free shuttle to downtown.

There are several dining choices at the hotel, but beware of U.S. prices. There is a putting green, driving range, tennis courts, health club, jogging trail, and two free form pools. Just in case you need it, there is also a heliport.
