The Britannia Hotel is located in the heart of Barrio Amón, one of San José's first and most historic neighborhoods. The hotel is centrally located 25 minutes from the international airport and just six blocks from downtown San José, thus making it very close to the many tourist attractions, banks, post office, transportation services, and the best night life spots that San José has to offer.

High ceilings, original walls made of thick brick, arches and stained glass windows letting in colorful light, all aid in creating the hotel's warm Victorian atmosphere. Beautiful wallpaper, fine rugs, ceiling fans, mosaic tile floors and English-style furniture contrasts sharply with the tropical flower gardens "a la tica". The Britannia Hotel is divided into two sections, one is the old house which contains five Deluxe rooms, five Jr. Suites, as well as the restaurant which occupied what once was the old wine cellar of the house, appropriately named "The Cellar". The new sections of the hotel consists of a four story addition containing 14 standard rooms.

The Britannia Hotel is made up of 24 rooms, of which 14 are standard, 5 deluxe rooms and 5 Jr. Suites. The standard rooms all have: color cable T.V., telephone, private bathroom with bathtub, hot water, safe deposit box and either one king size bed or two twin size beds. The more spacious deluxe and Jr. Suites have, in addition to all of the items stated for the standard rooms, a desk, hair dryer in bathrooms and either one king size bed or two queen size beds.

"The Cellar" (capacity 60), is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant specializes in international cuisine and serves a wide variety of delicious dishes. The Bar prepares any type of mixed drinks, as well as beer and wine. Happy Hour is served from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

The conference room has a capacity of 25 persons, and is fully equipped with: VHS, TV, overhead projectors, acrylic boards and private bathroom.
