El Tucano is eight km east of Ciudad Quesada on the road to Aguas Zarcas. The riverside hotel - built around a courtyard patio and large open air swimming pool - is styled loosely as a Swiss chalet complex, with pretty, arched, wooden framed windows, wrought iron lanterns, and window boxes full of flaming red flowers.
