Pacific Coast
Sailfish Costa Rica offers world class fishing. The fishing varies according to wind, weather, fish migration and other factors, but year round the fish are running. The traditional center for sport fishing is on the Pacific Coast. There are more sails hooked in this area every year than anyplace else in the world. The recommended sport fishing areas are Gulf of Papagayo, Flamingo, and Quepos. Sport Fishing in Costa Rica is catch and release.

Barra Colorado
Tucked away in the jungle wilderness, you're likely to encounter schools of Tarpon, big jack crevalle, mackerel, grouper, snapper and a dozen other species of saltwater fighters. World-class snook abound in the river mouth and surf along the beaches.

There are several lodges in Costa Rica that specifically cater to the fisherman.
