Getting Around Costa Rica Costa Rica
Costa Rica

Private / Guide Drivers

Between any two points within Costa Rica, a transfer can be arranged. A driver will meet you at your hotel and drive you from there to your next destination. This type of transportation takes away all the worries. The driver will take care of the driving while you can sit back and enjoy the country's wonderful scenery.

These are transfer options available between most areas of Costa Rica:

Private Guided Tour Transfer
This feature allows you to be met at a prearranged time by a representative of Rico Tours who will serve as your driver and private bilingual naturalist guide for a transfer between two points. Transfer time is planned for an 8 hour journey. You will have the guide to yourself with time to stop at sights and tours along your journey. Entrance fees and gratuities will be an additional cost.

Private Guided Transfer
You will be met at your hotel by our representative bilingual naturalist guide for transfer between two points. Unlike the guided tour transfer this option is based on the actually driving time between points. For example, from San Jose to the Arenal area is normally a 3 hour transfer. Stops can be made along the way for food, drinks, picture taking, or wildlife viewing, but not extensive touring. The guides will use the transfer time to educate you about their country, it's people and culture, making for an fulfilling and enlightening transfer.

Private Transfer
The least expensive option, a private transfer will be done by a qualified driver who will pick you up at your hotel and drive you between two points. Although very friendly and personable, these drivers are not trained guides, but will be able to offer you an insight into the people of Costa Rica. Some of the drivers speak very little English. Stops can be made for food, drinks, or picture taking.
