I've been meaning to write since we returned from our trip to Costa Rica. It was absolutely fantastic. My kids want to move there, or at least go there for every vacation. And I have to say that wouldn't be bad. The trip -- and the arrangements -- was just great. The weather was perfect, the people were lovely, all the transportation was good (though not the roads ...), the food mostly delicious, etc. Thank you so much for all your help!
For the record, the only advice I would give is not to book people for Borinquen yet. It is not finished (really really hot, and the unfinished pool was sure frustrating), the restaurant was pretty weak, the rooms were gorgeous, but we had electrical problems and had to be moved out into another room. Biggest problem with the rooms is that there's this unbelievably wonderful breeze up on the mountain but there are no screens on the windows and, because of bugs, you need to use the AC. Probably these are kinks that will all be worked out, but at least as of February it wasn't great. Also they didn't really have the tours down too well. Even with that, we had a great horse back ride there, saw monkeys, toucans, went to the fantastic canopy tour and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

All in all - a fantastic vacation, and we may well go back next year to see more of the country.
