Atacama Desert ChileTuesday Day 01 - SANTIAGO - CALAMA - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA - MOON VALLEY PAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA:
Reception at the international airport in Santiago and transfer to domestic airport in time to board a flight to Calama. Reception in Calama airport and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama village, passing the Domeyko and Salt Mountain Ranges, passing through Quebrada de Tambores where there are numerous petroglyphs .During the afternoon visit the Moon Valley to admire incredible rock formations in the light of the setting sun. Return to San Pedro.

Wednesday Day 02 - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA - TOCONAO - SALAR DE ATACAMA - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA:
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we visit the archaeological museum, where one of the most important anthropological collections of the Atacama culture is housed. Continue to Quitor village fortress which belonged to the Atacameños, agriculture being one of their principal activities. Lunch in the hotel. In the afternoon visit Toconao village, a place where the inhabitants work the local volcanic stone, followed by a short trek through the Jeri Valley, before visiting the Chaxa Lagoon, part of the Atacama desert’s salt flats where the pink flamingos live. Return to San Pedro de Atacama.

Thursday Day 03 - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA - EL TATIO GEYSERS - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA:
Departure from the hotel at dawn (4.00 AM) to El Tatio Geysers. Box breakfast on arrival at the Geysers. Then a soft walking tour guided around the geothermal field to watch the spectacular jets of steam shoot up. Return through the Andes Mountain Range with an impressive view of Tocorpuri and Sairecahur volcanoes, where native flora and fauna can be appreciated. Return to San Pedro de Atacama for lunch in the hotel. Rest of the afternoon is free.

Friday Day 04 -SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA - CALAMA - IQUIQUE:
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport in Calama in time for a flight to Antofagasta and the connecting flight to Iquique. Reception at airport in Iquique and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon a visit the city’s most outstanding attractions, which reflect the splendors of the golden age of nitrates which gave this area it’s wealth. This is reflected in the architecture and the buildings of Oregon pine which remain intact and perfectly preserved.
Dinner and overnight Hotel Carrera Club.

Saturday Day 05 - IQUIQUE - PINTADOS AND CERRO UNITA GEOGLYPHS - IQUIQUE - ARICA:
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion with picnic lunch included, visiting the “ghost village” of Humberstone where saltpetre was mined at the turn of the century. Then the tour continues to the Tamarugal forest, where there are forested areas in the driest desert in the world. We then go on to the “Pintados” or Geoglyphs. Continuing northwards we admire the spectacular magnitude of the Cerro Unita Geoglyph. In the afternoon return to Iquique to take flight to Arica. Reception at Arica airport and transfer to the hotel.

Sunday Day 06 - ARICA - PUTRE - PARINACOTA - LAUCA NATIONAL PARK - ARICA:
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion to Lauca National park, stopping on the way to admire the Lluta Geoglyphs and the prehispanic villages of Putre and Parinacota. We arrive at an altitude of 4.500 meters (approx 1500 feet) above sea level whre the Lake of Chungara is found. The nearby volcanoes with their snowy peaks reflect on the lake and this magnificent amphitheatre is the home of Guanacos, Flamingos, Vicuñas Alpacas and local ducks. A Picnic lunch included. In the afternoon return to Arica.

Monday Day 07 - ARICA - SANTIAGO:
Breakfast at the hotel. City tour of Arica, visiting the most outstanding attractions, such as the beaches, the rocky outcrop l Morro” one of the reminders of the Pacific battle fought between Chile and the Peru-Bolivia Confederation in 1879, San Marcos Church, the Customs Building which was designed by Gustavo Eiffel and ending at the archaeological museum of San Miguel de Azapa, which holds an important exhibition of pre-Columbian culture from the year 10,000 AD. Transfer to the airport in time to board a flight to Santiago. Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight Hotel Fundador.

Tuesday Day 08 - SANTIAGO:
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport for the onward flight.
